Normally, when you plug your camera or iOS device into your Mac, iPhoto launches. If you’d like a different app to launch—Adobe Lightroom, for example—you can make that happen in Image Capture. If you want Image Capture, for instance, to automatically open whenever you plug in your phone, choose Image Capture from the menu options. These four uses demonstrate how this native Mac app can get things done in its own simple yet effective ways.

I know as I've worked directly with them on a number of issues and getting to the right people without them hiring you first is a waste of time. LR will not open the files; I tried that too. Graphic Converter will open them correctly so it's a combo of Photoshop/LR and Image Capture (after all, some app's open them correctly). IF you have many of scans already, Graphic Converter may be the best option as it can do batch re-saving which could save a lot of your time. Click to expand. The images I downloaded from you, both JPG and TIFF, are tilted within a rectilinear frame. The Alpha Channel controls transparency.

I suspect the TIFF image has layers, but are flattened for JPEG output. Unchecking the 'Alpha' option in Apple Image Preview then reserving would have the same effect. As Digitaldog writes, there are many differences between Apple and PC representations for TIFF files. These options are visible when saving a file from Photoshop on both platforms.

If there is an option, the PC version is more universally acceptable. After purchasing nvivo for mac can i switch to microsoft. I had the same problem opening the file in Adobe Illustrator, which probably uses the same graphic engine as Photoshop. When re-saving the file, Apple Viewer defaults to JPEG compression on a TIFF file. That may mean the original file has JPEG compression, which i can't confirm. Changing the compression to 'NONE' does not restore the file to read properly. As an aside, the opposite is true for video files, due to the way audio and video are interleaved.

Apple files read perfectly on either platform, whereas PC files stutter and break up on Apple. I'm in the middle of something, but will make a screen shot from the Apple screen, and see if I can open the TIFF file properly in Windows. Click to expand. If you don't have to batch resave, probably don't need it although it's a great app that's saved my butt a few times over the years (opening files PS couldn’t, resaving so it could). Probably just avoid Image Capture and use something that isn't going to produce a TIFF that's wonky when scanned in color. OR scan without any rotation and fix later in Photoshop (time consuming indeed).

You might look into SilverFast if it drives you scanner. It can rotate as you scan if so desired.

I use the software which comes with the scanner, I crop roughly in the preview screen, and clean up and straighten in Photoshop. Photoshop, incidentally, calls up the same program when scanning directly. I use the ruler tool to mark a line on the scan I wish to straighten. The angle appears in the image rotation menu as a 'random' angle, typically under 1 degree. Resampling is required unless the rotation is an increment of 90 degrees.
