Split from I am having the same problem, not with MS Word 2003 or earlier versions, but with MS Word 2011 for Mac. Is there anyone who can provide step by step instructions for Word 2011 on how to insert a bibliography or any text after the endnotes?
I need to insert two chapters that have endnotes into one MS word file. After I insert the first file, I have the problem of inserting the second chapter and bibliography into the same MS Word 2011 for Mac document. I am inserting a page break at the end of the first chapter and endnotes, but that is still not working because the second chapter is being inserted in the last endnote of first chapter, and then the endnotes of the first chapter get messed up. No offense, but it sounds like in at least 2 respects you are not correctly following the instructions you've been given: • You must use a Section Break (Continuous) or Section Break (Next Page) to separate the 2 'chapters'. As instructed in the article & mentioned in one of the replies earlier in the conversation you posted to originally, a Page Break will not work.
• Also clarified in that thread, the Section Break must be inserted into the main body of the document at the point where the first chapter ends, i.e. Before the endnotes for that Section.
It can't be inserted after the endnotes. One difference in Mac Word 2011 is that the check box to Suppress Endnotes is located in Format> Document - Layout, but you need to use it only if you want all endnotes to be at the end of the document. My impression, though, is that you want the endnotes to appear at the end of the respective Sections. 
If you continue to have a problem please provide a complete & accurate description. Vague allusions such as 'get messed up' provide nothing of value to those trying to help you get it sorted.
