Patrionics Cac Card Reader For Mac
I have been trying for days to get my Macbook to access my.mil sites using my CAC, and I am at a loss. Before I left on travel I was able to access CAC-protected Share Point and webmail using my CAC, but now I can’t, and there haven’t been any system changes.
Ok, here's what I got. I'm using the SCM Microsystems SCR111 CAC reader (plugs into a serial port) I downloaded the driver from their website.I mostly see the serial and pc card readers. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Etiam sollicitudin luctus est, id pretium nulla dapibus finibus. Nam imperdiet, ante ac maximus convallis, mi massa maximus risus, semper maximus magna. If the yellow light blinks on the CAC reader, then the computer has added the smart card as a device and the card will work properly FIRMWARE UPDATE for SCR-331 Reader (Requires a physical Windows computer, Mac using Bootcamp, or TENS / LPS (see next sentence below). How to use CAC card reader on Mac OS. Wondering how to use CAC card reader on Mac and don’t want to buy a PC instead? I had the same question prior to starting my career in Army, Although buying.
I want to access my.mil e-mail and protected Share Point sites at my command while I’m on extended travel. I have a somewhat older Macbook but am running OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite). My CAC is an “Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5”. It is brand new as of a few days ago and hasn’t been used on any system except my own (old CAC died last week after trying to use with an Army system where I’m working – I’m a USMC employee with different systems). I have an older reader which worked before I left (HP SCR331) and which the OS still recognizes and has current firmware (5.25). I also just bought an IO Gear GSR-203, which has the correct firmware per the militarycac website (9520).

Both readers are obviously recognized by the Mac, and each reader will flash its light when CAC is inserted, but SCR331 goes to solid green after about 10 seconds, and GSR-203 goes from red to red/green but doesn’t blink. I am using Centrify Express for Smart Card and have installed, uninstalled, and re-installed it several times.
I’ve downloaded all the DOD and DOD E-mail certificates from CA-27 through CA-32, but all I see in the keychain this time are CA-21 through 30. (I can’t seem to import CA-27 through CA-32 into the keychain, I get a 100013 Error, ‘Unable to import “DOD EMAIL CA-32”’ or similar for each.) These certificates are in the Keychain under the category “Certificates”; they are not under “My Certificates” and are not under the Keychain “SystemCACertificates”. Office 365 skype for business machines. SystemCACertificates is locked and my administrator password won’t unlock it, I had the thought to drag the CA certificates into this keychain as well. I’ve tried I think all the steps on militarycac and on here, but of course with all the variables (which I’ve given above) and different sets of instructions it’s difficult to follow all the way through.
My browser is Safari 8.02 but I also have Firefox 15.0.1 and am open to using any browser that will aid in getting this to work. I have also restarted my Macbook after installing Centrify Express, and have not used any other smart card drivers other than Centrify Express. Any help would be appreciated. Hi bigwavedave, Thanks for the detailed description of your issue! It sounds like you've gone through a lot of the troubleshooting checklist already and from your report, it looks like the card readers and CAC card itself should be working ok. The first thing we should clarify is whether the smart card itself shows up in Keychain Access when you insert it into the card reader, and if so - does its Keychain entry match with the type of card that you have? Could you also describe what happens (or what does not happen) when you try to authenticate with the card?

Is there any kind of error or is there just no response at all? You may have seen this post already - but just to make sure I'm covering all the bases, could you try going through the Cleanup and Reinstall steps in this post here: - The steps in that post has seen the highest success rates in getting Smart Card Express users back up and running again. Most likely you've already covered some of the steps already, but there are other bits in there like the clearing of cached objects that you didn't mention if you've done or not. I always recommend doing all the steps regardless of what has been tried before - for example even if you think you don't have any other smart card software installed - in my experience it never hurts to check and double-check. For the error you're seeing when trying to import your DoD certs, have you seen this militarycac page here?: - It has a couple of suggestions of what to do if you see the 'Error: 100013' code. Kind regards, Brian.
